HUFON provides undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral education in nursing and has been a pioneer in advanced nursing education since the late 1960s. Currently, the faculty hosts more than 1,000 undergraduate and over 100 postgraduate students. Its academic structure includes experienced professors, associate professors, assistant professors, and research staff working across eight departments, ensuring strong education, research, and community engagement. Recognized nationally and internationally for its academic excellence, HUFON was ranked within the 151–200 band of the Academic Ranking of World Universities (Shanghai Ranking) in 2025. Operating within a globally respected university with more than 60 years of scientific excellence, the faculty continues to attract high-achieving students and scholars committed to advancing gender equality in healthcare.
The faculty’s curriculum is aligned with European Union standards for nursing education and integrates gender equality, ethical practice, and human rights across theoretical and clinical courses. Students are encouraged to critically evaluate power relations, discriminatory practices, and structural inequalities affecting individuals, families, and communities. This approach prepares graduates to act as advocates for gender equality and inclusive healthcare.
HUFON also has a strong tradition of international collaboration, including Erasmus+ mobility programs, joint research initiatives, and academic partnerships. These collaborations support knowledge exchange on gender-sensitive care, inclusive education, and equality-oriented health policies. The faculty’s participatory and democratic governance structure further reinforces its commitment to equality and diversity within academic and professional environments. Through its education, research, and international cooperation, HUFON remains dedicated to training nurses who protect and promote the health and well-being of individuals and communities while actively challenging gender discrimination and upholding the highest standards of human dignity, equity, and ethical practice.
